            That Housing and New Homes Committee recommends to Strategy, Finance and

City Regeneration Committee to:

 

2.1      Agree to begin a procurement exercise for the redevelopment of this site,

including early market engagement.

 

2.2      Delegate authority to the Executive Director of Environment, Economy &

Culture and the Executive Director Housing, Neighbourhoods &

Communities to procure the contractors and then once a budget has been agreed at a subsequent committee meeting, to then enter into relevant contracts.

 

2.3      Note that the demolition of some of the existing buildings is due to

Present:  Councillors: Williams (Chair), McLeay (Opposition Spokesperson), Allen (Substitute), Baghoth, Fowler, Grimshaw, Meadows, Nann, Robinson (Substitute) and Sheard.

ITEM 61: Moulsecoomb Hub and Housing

 

61.1    The Regeneration Programme Manager (Housing Supply) introduced the report to the committee.

 

61.2    Following questions the committee Members were informed of the following: out of five contractors, three scoring highest are put forward to tender for the project, which may affect the planning application; contractors will need to show social values including apprenticeships and skills training of local workers and this will be monitored; contractors should go into schools regarding careers in construction; the viability tool kit will be used to simplify tenders; performance indicators will be used to ensure contractors delivery; a range of accommodations are being offered in the scheme; units will be accessible and some with special adaptions, the hub will be accessible; no reasons other than S73 agreement not being approved to not start in 2025.

 

61.3    The committee went in confidential session to discuss finances.

 

61.4    The chair presented the recommendations to the committee.

61.5    A vote was taken, and the committee agreed the recommendations unanimously.

 

 

RESOVLED: That Housing and New Homes Committee recommends to Strategy, Finance and City Regeneration Committee to:
